Burleigh Heads National Park is a Natural Beauty

Beginning of Burleigh Head
Burleigh Heads is one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Gold Coast.

It was a cloudy morning when we packed the cameras and went to Burleigh Heads.

We ended up at Burleigh Heads National Park which is on the coast line at Burleigh Head.

We found parking at Goodwin Terrace which is adjacent to John Laws Park.

It Rained!

There was a few showers but then it cleared up to a bright sunny summer day.

The clouds did not keep the swimmers away though. It was nice warm rain which helped to cool us off.

How To Enter The Park

The entry point to the National Park is located at the top of Goodwin Terrace right next to the car park. Tweed Street is the nearest major cross-street.

We decided to take a walk along the circuit which is about 2.6 kilometers long.

We took the lower track which runs along the beach and followed it up to the top to be rewarded with breath taking views. The walk itself is breath taking if you like the feel of nature all around you.

We took our time enjoying all the sights and smells while taking photos.

To the North is Burleigh Beach where there are safe swimming areas. These swimming areas are patrolled by surf life savers.

Looking South From The Top
Views all the way to Coolangatta

To the south visible from the top of the park are some great views of Tallebudgera Beach, Pacific Beach, Palm Beach and Tallebudgera Creek.

In the far horizon, we could even see Coolangatta.

Time for Breakfast

When we returned, it was time for breakfast.

There was a canteen right next to Burleigh Beach but it looked packed out so we walked over the road and took a table at the Bluff Café.

The Bluff Café is located at a block of shops on the corner of Tweed Street and Goodwin Terrace on the Goodwin Terrace side.

The Bluff Café was busy too but it was more relaxing sitting at a nice table while waiting for breakfast to get cooked.

The service was fast and friendly

I was very hungry so I asked the waitress what she recommended. She said that the omelet was pretty huge so I ordered that and Petra went for a stack of fresh pancakes which come with butter and maple syrup.

The omelet was so huge I barely ate it and Petra s stack of pancakes was big for her too. Overall, it was a nice breakfast which cost about 25 bucks which included a couple of coffees.

After breakfast we walked back through John Laws Park and took a few more photos of Burleigh Beach and decided to go home.

It was 23 January 2005. The Big Day Out was on so we decided not to drive home through Surfers Paradise because the traffic was just hell.

Overall, it was a great day.
